The Oilers are piecing together one of their better seasons in years. Pearland registered its first 30-win season since 2004 with a 62-61 win against Channelview on Friday. Steve Buckelew, who is in his 21st season at Pearland registered his 700th career coaching win on Feb. 10.

Kingwood continues its run in the playoffs under 30-year head coach Royce Huseman. The Mustangs have carried the momentum from the regular season into the playoffs dispatching La Porte and District Champion Dickinson to make it to the Regional Quarterfinals.

Pearland Dawson knocked out North Shore and Friendswood to get to this round, winning both games by 17 and 14 points, respectively. This is the first time Dawson has played Kingwood since 2014. The Eagles are 5-1 against the Mustangs since 2011, last loss coming in 2012.
