McCorkle and His Slugging Eagles

On a foggy Monday afternoon in the outskirts of Pearland, Coach David McCorkle’s Lady Eagles were hard at work. Drill after drill, play after play the ladies are working with one goal in mind. On a foggy Monday afternoon in the outskirts of Pearland, Coach David McCorkle’s Lady Eagles were hard at work. Drill after drill, play after play the ladies are working with one goal in mind. The Eagles have set their sights on a district championship and plan to get there by way of hitting and sound defense. On the field there is a pleasant atmosphere with driven focus. Through each drill every member is working on a personal goal in hopes of helping the team achieve greatness. The offense is led by junior Rylee Rodriguez. The big hitting right hander is leading the team in both home runs and intentional walks. Her work ethic and natural ability has made her a main stay in the heart of McCorkle’s lineup. Alongside Rodriguez are Baylee Malone a right handed power hitting first baseman and Heaven Benavidez the scrappy second baseman who finds many gaps. Every lady on this team deserves recognition for the heart and determination shown in practice. The Lady Eagles have a tough road ahead and are poised to make a lot of noise come playoff time and I can guarantee they are worth the price of admission!
